The World Children’s Transplant Fund (WCTF), is donating a surgical retractor to an Armenian pediatric surgical center.  A surgical retractor is used to hold surgical incisions open or to hold back tissues or other objects so as to maintain a clear surgical field.

On April 13-14 ,2022, Louise Mardirosian Gill, a member of the Board of Directors of the WCTF will personally travel to Yerevan Armenia and represent the WCTF in presenting the device to the Sourb Astvatsamayr Medical Center in Yerevan.

This key piece of surgical equipment will facilitate pediatric organ transplantations and other surgeries by surgeons and staff under the direction of Doctor Davit Dalakyan, Director of Medical Services at the Sourb Astvatsamayr Medical Center in Yerevan.

Doctor Dalakyan indicated that the retractor will enhance the surgical process and greatly contribute to the comfort of patients.

The WCTF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the opportunity for life saving organ transplantation for children of the world. The WCTF mission is to provide as many opportunities as possible for lifesaving pediatric transplant surgery to children of the world using our 3 T’s – training, technology and teaching. This contribution is in direct pursuit of the mission of “technology” which enhances life saving pediatric organ transplantation.
